Brothers Sam and Nathan “Nate” Drake are caught through museum protection trying to scouse borrow the first map made after the Magellan excursion. The orphanage that homes both boys kicks Sam out. Before he leaves, Sam promises his return to Nate, and leaves him a hoop with the inscription “Sic Parvis Magna”.
Fifteen years later, Nate works as a bartender in New York City and pickpockets rich consumers. Victor “Sully” Sullivan, a fortune hunter who labored with Sam monitoring treasure hidden by the Magellan team, explains to Nate that Sam vanished after helping him thieve Juan Sebastian Elcano’s diary. Nate, who received several postcards from Sam through the years, has the same opinion to assist Sully to find his brother. Sully and Nathan go to an auction to scouse borrow a golden move related to the Magellan group, wherein they meet Santiago Moncada, the ultimate descendant of the Moncada family who funded Magellan’s expedition, and Jo Braddock, leader of mercenaries hired via Moncada. Nate is ambushed with the aid of Braddock’s guys, and the following combat creates a distraction for Sully to scouse borrow the go.
The duo tour to Barcelona, wherein the treasure is supposedly hidden, and rendezvous with Sully’s touch Chloe Frazer, who has another pass. Chloe steals the primary pass from Nate, but the guys persuade her to paintings with them. Meanwhile, Moncada learns from his father that the circle of relatives fortune may be donated, and so orders Braddock to kill his father, so that he’ll inherit the cash alternatively. Nate, Chloe, and Sully follow clues in Elcano’s diary to Santa Maria del Pi, finding a secret crypt at the back of the altar. Nate and Chloe enter, locating a trap door, but as they open it, the crypt floods with water. Sully allows them break out after subduing an ambush via Braddock. Using the two crosses to release a secret passage, Nate and Chloe find a map that indicates the treasure is within the Philippines. Chloe betrays Nate and takes the map, hinting Sully is maintaining a secret about Sam. Chloe brings the map to Moncada, having also been employed by using him, to Braddock’s displeasure.
